Northwest champs at Farmer Johns MTB Park 21st June 2015.
Practice didn’t go to plan with a few crashes and swapping between bikes. The track at the top was flat out pedaling, suiting the 27.5″ Diamondback Mission , and the bottom being steep and tech suiting the 27.5″ Diamondback DH8 downhill bike I was torn, but after a few runs I elected to use my downhill bike thinking the gain at the bottom would be greater.
Coming down run 1 cleanly and smoothly I qualified 2nd with a handful of tenths between me and first and after some small mistakes I knew I could make it up.
The track developed and got much drier for race runs, I managed to put a solid run together with only one or two real moments and took three seconds out of my first run and 1st in the Expert category.
1st Place Podium spot goes to Sean Radcliff, Diamondback 44Racing Rockstar Team Rider
This felt like a great confidence boost going into the next round of the BDS.
